Marks of Honor that Really Matter

Paul stated he’d rather have Jesus more than anything, counting all his other worldly goods as ‘rubbish.’ WOW!

Whether it be honor student, perfect attendance, club awards, etc., we sometimes do tend to get carried away with notoriety for our children, and oftentimes even with titles for ourselves. Awards and titles have their place in our lives, but we must keep the main thing the main thing. None of this would be possible if it had not been for what Jesus did for us, and secondly and of even more import; none of this means anything if Jesus is not our personal Savior and Lord. Besides, when we get to heaven God is not going to check our credentials for awards or titles, He’s going to check our hearts and bodies for battle scars (the marks of Jesus).

Make It Easier Saints

Saints are persons who make it easier for others to believe in God. – N. Soderblom

Before she met Jesus at the well she was a woman of ill repute. After she met Jesus at the well she helped a whole town to the faith. WOW!

Monday, and though it’s the toughest day of the week for most; the assignment gets no easier. The agenda and theme never change. God has blessed each one of us to be a saint TODAY. There will be people brought into our immediate circle of influence and God needs us to somehow inform them of His love. There will be others who watch how we handle the stresses and drama of the day and God wants us to “visually” preach to them. As heavens cameras roll today, remember it’s not about us, but God.

The bible says Jesus couldn't 'do' any miracles in his hometown so he left. Hmmm

“Close enough for government work!” It’s a phrase we’ve all heard and possibly used. With so much bureaucracy we marvel at anything that actually gets done. But this way of thinking has not only crept into our vocabulary, but into our daily lives as well. We don’t really strive for perfection, just “close enough” to put us in line with all the other average Joes. But God calls us to a higher degree of perfection and maturity. I’m praying we will all be extended beyond ourselves a little bit today.
