Disciples Duties

To the believer, the idea is not to render ourselves important but useful. – Anon

The apostle Paul ‘often’ worked side by side with those he was also ministering to. Hmm!

Admittedly, recognition is great. It can lead to opening many doors and avenues for success, but oftentimes the recognition is for personal benefit or ego-stroking. The heart God is trying to perfect in us is that of a servant. It is said that the heart of a servant is the sanctuary of God. Position, education, financial standing, and even age, are all irrelevant when it comes to our faith walk. As disciples we are called and commanded to go where Jesus went, and do as Jesus did – by pouring ourselves out unto others for His glory. God has given us today to make a choice as to whether we will be important or useful.

Until tomorrow…..

Opportunities to Serve

Opportunities today are the results of actions taken yesterday. - Anon

Andrew spending that 1st day with Jesus ultimately led to 3,000 souls being saved on Pentecost. Wow!

Being involved in Christ’s mission to save mankind can be overwhelming if we forget our place. It is easy to get burnt out when we think it is all on us. But God is not asking you or me to individually solve the injustices of the world, He’s asking us to reach out and help the individuals He places in our path. True, there will be many, and it may seem like our contribution is small and won’t change anything, but the success of our actions is not what gets measured, nor whether they accept Christ or not. What God looks upon is the measure of faith by which we shared the love of Christ inside us, that’s what’s important; for we never know how far reaching it will be. We need only remember that Jesus’ actions already saved the world, we’re just to remind them about it.

Until tomorrow…..
