God's Omnipresent Glory

A man can no more diminish God’s glory by refusing to worship Him, than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word ‘darkness’ on a wall. – C. S. Lewis

The religious leaders heaped all the darkest insults, derogatory remarks, shame and reproach they could muster upon Jesus while He was on the cross. But, His GLORY still leaked out. AMEN!

It has been scientifically proven that a single drop of liquid can contain thousands, if not millions of living organisms. Though we cannot see it with the naked eye, under a microscope it comes to life. The glory of God defies all logic, and is vividly seen in every detail of life to the person who has eyes of faith and a spirit of understanding. He’s there all the time, friend.

Until tomorrow…

The Master Artist

The beauty of God may be copied but never fully captured. - Anon

I imagine Moses' 'glimpse' into the Promised Land was a vision he couldn't forget or even tell the people about. Hmm!

It happens with every I-Phone upgrade. More camera lenses to try and help you maximize your pictures or video. Thinking on this makes me realize a truth of God. The beauty we see through the lens -no matter the magnification level - can never be translated to the finished product. No one makes a sunrise/sunset like God, no one captures a spontaneous smile/smirk like God, it's always there in the moment. Our photos or videos are great but in truth they lose a little of the 'oomph' factor. God is the master artist, who continually designs those moments we try to capture forever reminding us of His presence. And when we stop and notice it as such He is well pleased. So whether it's an April shower, June gloom, or snowy winter day his glory is still awesome.

Until Monday...

Just Different

There is no such thing as bad weather; it’s just a different sort. – J. Ruskin

God spoke with Abraham man to man. He spoke to the Israelites from the mountain. He spoke to us through His Son. Different ways – same God! Hmm!

The great thing about life is no 2 days are ever alike. But often in our lives when our circumstances seem to tax us to the 'Nth' degree we say things like “I’m having a streak of bad luck” or “my life is going from bad to worse.” In reality the only thing that has really changed is our outlook on the situation. When we see things as “bad” it means we’ve taken our eyes off of our sustainer – GOD. God is "good all the time." Life may be hard at times, but it is not bad, it’s just different given the situation. But as sure as day follows night God can and often will change our outlook if we just look up.

God's Glory Revealed

Grow Through It

Everybody wants to be somebody, nobody wants to grow. - Goethe
Though we 'put on Christ' we have to grow in His stature. Hmm!
The mustard seed is indeed a small seed. Yet when planted it grows to produce a plant that provides shelter and rest for the birds of the air. Imagine that small seed planted in the earth, covered up in darkness, but yet it springs forth because within it is 'life.' Small things don't grow only when they don't have life. If Christ resides within our hearts then we have life, our faith may be 'little' but yet it is alive. At times we may feel that our life is being suffocated by the complete darkness around us, but the darkness only means you've been planted. If there is life within (spirit) you will eventually break through the ground (darkness) and burst forth into the freshness of what God is trying to do in your life. Just remember, the process of growth entails enduring through all circumstances.

Perfect Plan

Just because things are not going perfectly does not mean that they are not going well. – A. Groh
Joseph was sold into slavery, made a house servant, falsely accused, and thrown into prison. It was all according to God’s plan and purpose for him and his people. Hmm!
“Look on the bright side of things!” That’s a phrase we’re more often than not going to tell someone else who is having a down or difficult time of life, but one we hate to hear ourselves. It’s truly amazing how we so often expect everything to work out to perfection or according to our plan, when in retrospect everything that “did work to our good” didn’t actually happen the way we envisioned it, but according to God’s plan and purpose. There will come times in all our lives that darkness seems to hover over us, resources seem to be a bit short, friends seem to be a bit distant or unhelpful, and family wants little or nothing to do with us. It might just be then that God is saying “just perfect…trust in me.”
