Melodious Friendship

A true friend knows the song in your heart and sings it to you during hard times, or when memory fails. - Anon

During David’s waiting period to ascend to the throne, the king’s own son Jonathan was his closest friend and ally. Hmm!

The familiar refrain “when I am sad, He makes me glad, He’s my friend,” that we sing about Jesus is a powerful reminder of what true friendship is. He reminds us of God's love for us and our purpose, and steadfastly tries to keep us on point. It is actually a value judgment we should use to measure those we allow into our sphere of friendship. God places those in our life that can help us keep our heart song true, pure, and uncluttered by other tunes or melodies (worldliness). When we want to go outside of the parameters God sets for friendship and fellowship (righteousness), we risk having our heart song broken, interrupted or even changed, falling away from our purpose and true character. Here's hoping your melody is still inspiring to you.

Enjoy Life!

Life is not a problem to be solved, but a gift to be enjoyed. – J. Dooley

Mary, mother of Jesus; saw amazing things in her son’s life she didn’t fully understand – but she ‘treasured’ them in her heart. AMEN!

Most of us go through life trying to “figure it out,” assuming if we do we can then somehow commandeer it and take full advantage. The only problem is it takes a lifetime to figure out life is not the problem, we are. You cannot commandeer something that is already freely given to you – and God gives us life one day at a time. His hope is that we will see His handiwork in all things and live in such a way that we reflect the very image of glory He breathed into us. Yes there are circumstances and situations we must contend with, but they only serve to help shape our character, but God left the enjoyment factor up to us. Hope you enjoy what he sends today!

Practice Practice Practice

Every time you are not practicing, someone else is. – Boris Becker

Satan never got the upper hand on Jesus because of his practice. He communed with his Father daily. Hmm!

It’s a strange phenomenon, but when we see professional athletes, businesspeople, or friends continuously “handed their lunch” by someone, we say they are weak or need more practice. But we often never apply that logic to ourselves in our Christian walk, suffering the same sins and breakdowns over and over. We know within ourselves that our enemy never takes a break or holiday, but we often never take time out to prepare for his onslaughts, which leave us frustrated. True, we walk by faith, but effectiveness comes from being prepared.
