Walk This Way

“Do this in remembrance of me,” wasn’t only reserved for the communion table. – Anon

Barnabas extended himself to Paul long before any of the other “faithful” brothers. I think he knew something about Jesus. Hmm!

Often, we are very good at keeping the “rituals” or “acts of faith” commanded by Jesus, but not so good at keeping the “heart” of Jesus. Jesus was never caught short or bent out of shape in dealing with people. One thing I’ve learned from life and God’s Word is you can never give what you’ve never received. If we find ourselves short on compassion, mercy, forgiveness, love, etc., maybe it’s time to belly up to the table of GRACE. It has a lot to offer in terms of our ability to live/love like Jesus. I can almost guarantee we will all need to show a little to someone today.

Until tomorrow…

But if any man obeys his word, God’s love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him. Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did.” – I John 2:5-6

Lucky Charms

Depend on the rabbit’s foot if you will, but remember it didn’t work for the rabbit either. – R.E. Shay

Pharaoh trusted in his sorcerers and magicians to show up Moses and God. We know how that situation ended. God won. AMEN!

We live in a world gone mad. Mankind is desperately seeking inner peace but refuses to come to the only one who can give it – God. We’ve a host of books, talk-show hosts, and self-made guru’s everyone seems to quote and give homage and obeisance to. We even have TV/Radio evangelists that ‘get it done’ for others. But we must be careful not to put our faith in people, rituals, duties, or affiliations; but in a sincere relationship with Almighty God. He will not nor should He take a backseat to anyone. As the day unfolds in its circumstances let’s make sure we’re on firm footing, and not depending on one.

Until tomorrow……

“Of what value is an idol, since a man has carved it? Or an image that teaches lies? For he who makes it trusts in his own creation….can it give guidance? It is covered with gold and silver; there is no breath in it. But the Lord is in his holy temple; let all the earth be silent before him.” – Habakkuk 2:18-20
