Elated Labor

Motivation is high when you have a stake in the outcome. - J. Clear

Though Joseph was sold as a slave, then thrown in prison, it's clear to see he enjoyed his work. Hmm!

Monday morning! WORK - ugh! Can't wait until Friday! Hmm! If you hate your work (job/career) maybe you're looking to it for all the wrong reasons. It's a means to an end, not an end to all means. It was not given to define us, classify us, or grant boasting rights. It was given to us as a meaningful way to be productive and happy as we support God's kingdom work and the family he blesses us with. When these two ideas are understood and become our focus, work then becomes a joy because we 'get to' assist in the greater good, and not have to feel like 'indentured servants' for someone else. This is what we were made for.

Until tomorrow...

See and follow the signs

Conscience only tells you what is wrong, it doesn’t stop you from doing it. – Anon
Aaron's sons knew they were not supposed to offer 'strange fire' to God, yet they did it anyway. OUCH!
STOP….. , ONE-WAY...., 55 MPH…..., NO PARKING……, NO TURN ON RED……, YIELD…., NO LEFT TURN DURING THE HOURS OF....? You’ve probably guessed by now these are all traffic signs posted to keep traffic flowing at a smooth safe pace. I’m sure we’re all aware of what happens when someone doesn’t heed the message Life is very similar. When we wrestle with right and wrong our conscience is trying to point out the signs we should obey, while the flesh is demanding satisfaction. However, we are not to satisfy the desires of the flesh but live by the Spirit. Our daily prayer should be that we will have a Spirit-filled, Spirit-led day.
Until Monday…..

Been around the world

A man travels all over the world in search of what he needs and returns home to find it. – G. Moore
When he 'came to himself' The Prodigal son knew exactly where he needed to go. Hmm!
One of our persistent difficulties is that we are always looking to find meaning, purpose, and satisfaction elsewhere than the place where we should be looking, reflecting just how restless we are. We come home and then need to go out. We come to the fountain of life (Jesus) and take small sips rather than drinking deeply, looking for other ways to be satiated. We even come to the truth (God’s Word) and then look for meanin
g elsewhere in the world. We “give” our lives to Christ and then live as if there is something important to be found outside of Him. The reason for this is somewhat geometrical. Yes we are God trusting people, but if He is not the center-point of focus in our lives, we will look elsewhere and be drawn away. The rest we seek, the peace we want, and the joy we desire all up to one person – Christ.
Until tomorrow….
