Seize the Day

In the creation account God did everything He needed to do on each individual day. Period! And He’s our example. Hmm!

Today is here, and for most it means we’re one day further removed from what we promised God or ourselves we were going to do. When it comes to serving God, doing right, bettering oneself, or helping others, procrastination is the weapon of choice for our enemy. Seemingly little innocent interruptions that go a long way in keeping us behind and in frustration. The truth is God has put only so much in front of each of us to do today because He knows what He will provide for us to get through the day. So, if we just take it one day at a time (that’s all God gives us anyway) and not ‘give place to the devil’ we’ll be sure to keep in step with God. Also, whatever your promise to God may have been – TODAY is the day to honor it.

The Fullest Day

The people scoffed at Noah when he was building the ark, but the rains did come. OUCH!

PROCRASTINATION: it offers us a very comfortable place or way to live – for today. But also, with today we’re a day older and closer to meeting with eternity. Our dreams of love, life, adventure, etc. all come with an expiration date, and the reasons we often put forth as to why we shouldn’t pursue them are shallow at best. Things may or may not work out, but we will never know until we at least begin the attempt, inviting God into the mix. Today is the gift God gives us, and no, we don’t try to live all of life in this one day, but in this one day we should live life to the fullest.

The New Hope

Paul’s contentment with everyday life came from his relationship with Christ. Nothing more, nothing less. Hmm!

2020! Whoa! Yeah, it’s a New Year for US, but not for God. He has no calendar to follow. And though He has ‘numbered’ our days, He measures our lives by our growing maturing faith. He seeks neither resolution nor affirmations from us, just obedience. Obedience shows faith and builds itself into trust, which in turn brings about more obedience in other things and greater faith and trust in God overall. It’s just that simple.  God is not after a resolution of our making but a revolution in our heart that turns it to Him in all things. On your mark……get set…..!

Hurry Up and Wait

Adonijah couldn’t wait for the death of his father David to ascend to the throne, and tried to take it by force. His impatience only cost him his life. OUCH!

“Hurry up!” “They’ll only slow me down.” “I don’t have time for this.” Yes, these are all expressions we’ve heard or quite possibly used ourselves at times. In this micro-speed world we live in nothing is more intolerable than that which does not happen when we expect it to or need it to. We want everything at the speed of light or at our fingertips, and we want it yesterday. Were it really all about us this would be okay. But we must remember God is truly still in control and He will do things in His own way and His own time. Hold on!
