Enjoyed but not Consumed by

One of the symptoms of an approaching nervous breakdown is the belief that one’s work is terribly important. – B. Russell
God’s prophet Elijah thought that he alone was the sole standout for God. God showed him HE had 7,000+ who had not bowed a knee to Baal. Hmm!
We see it all the time in sports, entertainment, politics, etc. Players and actors who feel the “show” can’t go on without them, that they are irreplaceable, no one can do what they do. In truth, the show does go on,maybe not exactly how we think it should, but go on it does; just as it did before we got there. While we should enjoy our work or whatever we do, for it is a form of worship to God; it should not consume us and keep us away from the very God who created us and the families He's placed us in. Here's hoping our work is a means to an end and not the other way around.
Until tomorow…..
Pastor Botts
“The apostles gathered around Jesus and reported to Him all they had done and taught. Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, He said to them, ‘Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.’ So they went away by themselves in a boat to a solitary place.” – Mark 6:30-32
