It's Your Choice

He who chooses the beginning of a road also chooses the place it leads to. – H. E. Fosdick

Esau chose to sell his birthright for a bowl of stew. It eventually led to him losing his blessing and inheritance. OUCH!

Avenue. Street. Lane. Highway. Etc. Every road leads somewhere, even if it’s to a dead-end. The question we must decide is do I want to go there? God will let us make our own choices whatever they may be. But even when we make the wrong choice He gently tries to steer us back to the right road to keep us from the heartache and pain that lies ahead. Often the only reason we suffer is because we miss or ignore the ‘road signs’ He gives. Like any good driver we must be alert and always watch out for the ‘other guy.’ May you travel on “Blessing Boulevard’ today!

Until tomorrow…

God or Americana

It’s more important to have something to live for, than plenty to live on. – Anon

Though she only had the 2 coins to give, the widow's giving showed she lived by faith. Hmm!

We live in a land of plenty and we’re constantly bombarded with ads that say more is better, that you need the latest, greatest gadget or model to make your life easier, or free up your time to do more. And to no one’s surprise we’re constantly chasing the AMERICAN DREAM. This is not to say that having an abundance is sinful, but God never sent us on a quest for the American dream. He put within us a yearning, a strong desire for communion with Him. And not only did He promise to supply all that we need, He said He would consider our wants as well. So as we work today, this month, etc., let us consider who or what it truly is we are chasing – God or Americana.

Until tomorrow…….
