Do You Really Want to Go There?

He who chooses the beginning of a road also chooses the place it leads to. – H. E. Fosdick

Esau chose to sell his birthright for a bowl of stew. It eventually led to him losing his blessing and inheritance. OUCH!

Avenue. Street. Lane. Highway. Etc. Every road leads somewhere, even if it’s to a dead-end. The question we must decide is do I want to go there? God will let us make our own choices whatever they may be. But even when we make the wrong choice, He gently tries to steer us back to the right road to keep us from the heartache and pain that lies ahead. Often the only reason we suffer is because we miss or ignore the ‘road signs’ He gives. Like any good driver we must be alert and always watch out for the ‘other guy.’ May you travel on “Blessing Boulevard’ today!

Until tomorrow…

Don't Worry, Trust

The beginning of anxiety is the end of faith. – G. Muellar

The moment Peter took his eyes off Jesus he started sinking in the water. Hmm!

Well, it's here – Morning! Today is that tomorrow you worried about so incessantly yesterday. It came anyway. If you don’t have an action plan yet, I would suggest you give it over to God right now! We shouldn’t live life so worried about future events that we can’t enjoy the present, that’s why God wants us to ‘cast our cares on Him.’ The more we lean on Him and learn to trust in Him, the less we’ll have to worry or fret about. True, in this game of life we’ll win some and lose some, but when we look back over our life we can see in all things God has been completely trustworthy, and stuck with us through it all, making the best of every situation. And He’ll do the same with our current worries or fears if we give them over to Him. As the day unfolds, I hope we don’t take too long to make up our minds.

Until tomorrow…

The Truth Don't Change

Science and religion both agree there was ‘a beginning.’ But it’s only science who keeps changing the story. - Anon

When asked not to teach in the ‘name of Jesus’ anymore, Peter and John somewhat said “it’s the only truth we know.” Amen!

Our world is in a constant state of change – but God is not! Every day we encounter new laws, new morality, new economics, and a slew of other issues. And sometimes, even those we counted on to be strong pillars or unshakeable foundations change their position overnight. But we can take great comfort in the knowledge that our Heavenly Father is the one rock that cannot be shaken. ‘He is the same yesterday, today and forever.’ He will always be faithful and true – ALWAYS! And for us that should be one of the most peaceful and comforting thoughts we can ever have. So if this world and its issues have you worrying about which way to look or turn, just fix your focus on Him who never changes. Life is much easier when you do.

Until Monday…

And In the Number One Spot...

When we give God second place, we give God no place at all. – Anon

Jesus twice drove the money changers and sellers from the temple area. Seems there was no room for God in his own house. Hmm!

From the time we’re able to understand we’re taught “everybody loves a winner,” that unless you came out on top you’re a loser. And we feed into that worldview. But it is only in God’s economy that we can win by losing. “He who loses his life for my sake will find it” is what His word says. Anytime we place anything or anyone before God – we lose. True there are a great deal of noble causes out there – and the enemy knows this – but our worship and service to God must come first. As circumstances arise this day remember to be economical.

Until Monday…

No Better Time Than NOW To Get Started

The most important part of any work is – the beginning. – Plato

Noah had never heard of or seen rain when God commanded him to build the ark. Good thing he didn’t wait until he saw the first rain drop.

One of the more convenient tools of the enemy is procrastination. Particularly when it comes to doing the things that help build up and strengthen us and God’s kingdom. Why, because there can never be progress nor a completion of assignment without a beginning first. There can never be perfection attained without a beginning of practice. It sounds simple enough but often more things are put off than started not so much do to lack of desire, but due to an expectation that there is plenty of time. Today is all we’re promised. But Today as it is called is enough of an opportunity to begin again.

Until tomorrow……
